Artists collective "Periféricos"

The work of an initiative by four artists (Safi, Amalio Flores, Rafael Ebrero, Anne Kampschulte) began in 2005 in the Castle of San Felipe de Los Escullos with the first exhibition entitled "Periféricos." This initiative is configured as an art collective "Periféricos" with ongoing exhibitions from 2006. The core group includes the artists:
Safi: painting and sculpture
Rafael Ebrero: recycled furniture
Anne Kampschulte: sculpture

Art created far from the well-known and established locations seeks to communicate, with the complicity of the viewer, to become the voice of the periphery:
"... We look for the interaction between our individual works. Three different ways of expression and three different languages share the same space and form a triad to present a new reality. We want to enlighten, to give both a subjective and complex vision of the problems that affect our environment. The aim is to arouse emotions, to unleash curiosity, and to ask questions. We want to show that it is ultimately the way of compromise, individual and collective commitment, that makes possible the use, exploitation and protection of the environment. We understand that what you do not know, you cannot understand: that what is not understood, is not valued, and what is not valued is not loved and respected.
