Limestone Petit Granit

Petit Granit is in fact a compact crystalline carbonate which is quarried in Belgium.

Because it is very hard and characterised by small dark grey to blue-black crystals, it looks like granite. It is also known as "Arduin".

Workability

Its uniform crystalline structure makes Petit Granit a highly polishable carbonate. By controlling the depth of grind, different surface grey tones can be achieved to good effect.

Petit Granit is relatively easy to work with hand tools and its dense nature allows the sculpting of fragile forms. It is an excellent stone for outside sculptures.
